2. Processing of personal data

In principle, the Finnish Cancer Centre FICAN website does not collect or process personal data. However, processing of personal data may be necessary in connection with, for example, registering for an event organized by FICAN or suscribing to our newsletter.

Events: When organizing events, we collect participants’ names, contact information (e.g. email address and phone number), and other information that may be necessary for the event. This information is used to organize the event, keep participants informed, and collect feedback after the event.

Newsletters: We collect the subscriber’s name and email address when subscribing to our newsletter. This information is only used to send the newsletter and inform the subscriber about FICAN’s activities.

3. Data storage period

Personal data is only stored for the length of time necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this privacy policy:

• Event information: Data collected in connection with an event is stored for a maximum of 12 months after the event.
• Newsletter subscriber information: Data collected in connection with subscribing to our newsletter is stored until the subscriber cancels their newsletter subscription.

We process personal data on the following basis:

• Consent: In connection with subscribing to our newsletter.
• Agreement: Processing of personal data in connection with events is based on the agreement to take part in the event.

We do not disclose personal data to third parties, unless it is necessary for the organization of an event (e.g. staff at the event venue). We do not transfer data outside the EU or ETA.

Personal data is protected with appropriate technical and organizational measures. Security measures to prevent unauthorized access to, modification, disclosure or destruction of personal data have been put in place.
