About us
FICAN East has been operating since April 2018, and includes the wellbeing services counties of North Savo (PSHVA), Central Finland (HYVAKS), North Karelia (Siun Sote) and South Savo (Eloisa), as well as the University of Eastern Finland (UEF). We are a part of the Finnish Cancer Center FICAN, which consists regional cancer centers and a coordinating unit. We collaborate actively regionally, nationally and with different actors such as biobanks and cancer associations.
For us, it is important to promote the equal, individual and effective treatment of cancer patients, and to enable easier participation of patients in research. In addition, we actively partake in National Cancer Strategy work.
