Cancer associations
Four member associations of the Cancer Society of Finland operate in area of FICAN East. The purpose of the associations is to support and advise cancer patients and those close to them in different phases of illness, as well as organize peer support, courses, groups, volunteer work and recreational activities.
Local cancer associations also have regional divisions, which organize recreational activities such as meetings, clubs, seminars and trips, where cancer patients and their carers can meet each other.
FICAN East and the area’s cancer associations actively collaborate e.g. in organizing training sessions and patient information days as well as customer council work.
