OECI

OECI (Organisation of European Cancer Institutes) is a European organization which brings together centers of cancer research and treatment, as well as cancer networks. The goal of OECI is to advance good practices and sensible organization in cancer treatment and treatment-related research, in order to improve quality and outcomes as well as ensure equal cancer treatment.

In May 2022, the KYS Cancer Treatment Center was granted the OECI Cancer Center (CC) accreditation as a sign of the high quality cancer treatment and research conducted in Kuopio University Hospital and the University of Eastern Finland. The accreditation was a strong start to long-term developmental work to which the professionals of cancer treatment and research commit to together.
