Cancer treatment
Cancer treatment is advancing rapidly. Forms of treatment include surgery, radiotherapy, drug treatments and stem cell transplants, with the combining of different treatment options being possible as well. Palliative care aims to ease symptoms and provide the best possible quality of life.
The treatment of a cancer patient is always planned individually. Treatment is often carried out in a multidisciplinary manner, during which it combines the expertise of several specialties. Decisions on treatment are always done together with the patient.
Rehabilitation, nutrition and psychosocial support are also important parts of treatment. The need for support is individual and can vary between different phases of the illness.
The Information for patients section provides you with information on cancer treatment and available support services.
Current information on open clinical trials can be found in the Recruiting cancer treatment studies section.
FICAN East does not provide treatment for cancer patients. If you are in need of more information on treatment, services or support, please contact your treatment providing unit.
