Patient Committee
The patient committee is a discussion and working group, where patients and their carers take part in the comprehensive planning, development and assessment of services. Members of the council bring in the point of view of cancer patients and their close ones on the treatment, services and research related to all stages of the care pathway.
Patient Committee, The KUH Cancer Center
The patient committee of the KUH Cancer Center was founded in the spring of 2022. The committee operates in two-year terms, with the most recent term having begun in April 2024 in collaboration with the Cancer Society of North Savo. The council consists of 18 members, who convene approximately four times per year to discuss a separately agreed theme with the professionals acting as the leaders of the council.

Patient Committee, The Wellbeing Services County of Central Finland
The patient committee will be established in the Wellbeing Services County of Central Finland, whose purpose is to handle topics and development ideas as well as customer feedback submitted by cancer patients and their carers. Development ideas brought up in the customer council are taken to cancer department meetings or cancer management team meetings for further consideration. The chief nurse acts as the chair of the customer council, while a nurse from the Cancer Society of Central Finland acts as the secretary. The patient committee will start in spring 2025.
