Clinical research
Clinical cancer research is a critical part of developing new treatments. In clinical trials, new treatments and drugs are tested on patients to ensure their safety and effectiveness.
Participation in research is important for the development of different cancer treatments and medications. Taking part in clinical cancer research also offers patients the opportunity to access the latest cancer treatments that are not yet available elsewhere. In clinical trials, the effectiveness and side effects of new drugs or treatment methods are studied.
You can read more about participating in clinical trials in the guide created by the European Patient Academy on Therapeutic Innovation (EUPATI): Clinical Trials – Information on Participating in Clinical Trials (in Finnish).
Recruiting clinical trials
Finnish Medicines Agency Fimea maintains a national website for recruiting clinical trials. Here, you can find a national listing of open and recruiting cancer research studies: Clinical Cancer Trials Recruiting Participants (in Finnish).
If you are interested in participating in ongoing studies or want to know more about cancer research, please contact your treating physician or the research contact person.
