Projects

The vision of FICAN South is to ensure first-class cancer diagnosis and personalized cancer treatment for each patient, as well as support translational research in the best interest of the patient.

The goal and purpose of FICAN South is to act as the integrating unit for regional cancer prevention, diagnostics, treatment and rehabilitation, as well as cancer research and educational development activities in the Southern Finland region. We advance personalized cancer treatment with the help of cancer research. We are responsible for advancing the collaboration between the service system and universities in cancer research by concrete means, with our activities reaching beyond the boundaries of organizations and units. Based on these goals, we support projects which focus on the development of new cancer models, cancer screening, cancer diagnosis, preparation of treatment guidelines, development of personalized treatment and patient support, both within the Southern collaborative area as well as on a national level.
