Finnish Cancer Center

About us

Finnish Cancer Center FICAN was established in 2019 under the directive of the Centralization Decree to promote effective and equitable cancer care in Finland. As a center of excellence in cancer care and research, FICAN plays a key role in implementing Finland’s Health sector growth strategy for research and innovation.

FICAN is a collaborative network comprising medical universities, wellbeing service counties, and HUS (Helsinki University Hospital). The strategic direction of FICAN is determined by its management board, which consists of representatives from the partner organizations.
