Translational Research

Cancer research forms the foundation for all diagnostic and therapeutic innovations in cancer treatment. The mission of the Southern Cancer Center is to broadly promote cancer research and research-based diagnostics and cancer treatment. The specific goal is to improve the conditions for translational and investigator-initiated clinical research and the utilization of results in experimental treatments. The research leverages the recognized strengths of Meilahti in personalized cancer care research and infrastructures, as well as the opportunities in digital healthcare, particularly from the perspective of HUS’s data pool, where the iCAN – Digital Precision Cancer Medicine flagship project plays a central role.
