Strategy
The strategy of the Finnish Cancer Center guides our activities for 2024-2026 and defines the long-term goals for its activities. The first joint strategy of the Finnish Cancer Center was approved at the FICAN management board meeting on April 18, 2024. The strategy serves as an important tool for long-term management and guidance of the entire FICAN’s activities.
Our mission
Together against cancer
The mission of the Finnish Cancer Center is to ensure high-quality and equitable care for Finnish cancer patients in the rapidly advancing field of cancer, where the number of patients is increasing, and treatment is becoming more personalized. The mission expresses our commitment to a common goal: to work against cancer in collaboration with all professionals and stakeholders. It emphasizes the need for a comprehensive approach, where the combined efforts of patients, healthcare professionals, researchers, and societal actors aim to improve cancer treatment outcomes and patients’ quality of life.
Our vision
Being a pioneer in effective and equitable cancer care
The vision of the Finnish Cancer Center aims to describe our goal of being a leading force in the development of cancer care in Finland. We strive for effective treatment outcomes and equitable care for all patients nationwide. Our goal is to be an example of how excellence, innovation, and close national cooperation can improve the lives and future of cancer patients.
